PLGC Knows How to Throw a Party!
Plantation Lakes Garden Club had a great party on Saturday night, and many of our neighbors came to share the evening with us, explore the historic home where it was held, raise funds for the Millsboro Blue Star Memorial, and enjoy the refreshments.
The primary goal of this fundraiser was to support the Millsboro Blue Star Memorial, our club's first major community project. The event was held at the John and Elsie Williams Conference Center in Millsboro, where we were warmly welcomed by Becky and Terry Johnson. Tuxedo-clad Terry even took the time to make a brief presentation to party guests about the home and its long-time owners.
Committee Chair Tina Latshaw was assisted by party-planners extraordinaire Gale Harley and Barbara Ramsey-Chudakewich. Several members donated punch, cheeses, desserts and paper products, Judy Pfister obtained a grant for the club from Thrivent Credit Union to provide seed money for this event. Margaret Woda created and donated the educational display, invitations, and tickets. Several members pitched in to serve wine, greet guests, or sell raffle tickets. It truly was a group effort - the secret of any successful project, even a great party!
Many thanks to the local businesses who donated to help us raise money for the Blue Star Memorial including the Golf Shop at Plantation Lakes, Georgia House, Blue Water Grill, Harris Teeter, and Pizza Palace.
Special thanks to all the guests who supported this event. Club members and our spouses enjoyed having you there to share the evening with us - it was truly the highlight of our evening!
