How to Join PLGC
Members of Plantation Lakes Garden Club in Millsboro, Delaware, must be residents of the Plantation Lakes community. Prospective new member attend three garden club meetings as a guest so they can get to know the current members and what we do as a club. Please RSVP by completing the information box on this page and clicking the send button. Our membership chair will contact you with information about the next meeting - the date, time, location and program details. No obligation is implied ... just come and meet our members and learn about our activities and projects. Even if you decide not to join, we welcome new "Friends of PLGC."
Requirements of PLGC Membership
Plantation Lakes Garden Club has not been immune to the effects of Covid-19 restrictions and guidelines. Our meetings, projects and some of our member requirements are temporarily on "hold" - in that they are not being enforced. If you would like to join garden club, let's talk. Please use the contact box on this page or email PLGC to introduce yourself. (Please enter "Join PLGC" in the subject line.) We're always happy to welcome new members, even in these unusual times!
Prospective members are installed as members at their third consecutive meeting, assuming they have selected a committee and paid their dues prior to installation. (Participation in a club project may be substituted for one of thee three meetings, subject to approval of the Board.) All members are required to attend five meetings per year, participate in at least one committee and serve with one or two other members as a hostess for one meeting between September - June. Why Join a Garden Club affiliated with National Garden Clubs?
As a member of Plantation Lakes Garden Club, you will enjoy unlimited opportunities for learning and networking with others who share our interests in gardening, landscaping, flower arranging, horticulture, conservation, community beautification and many other areas. PLGC programs, projects and activities are focused on our local area, while the State, Regional and National organizations provide resources to help us do that. These resources include opportunities for us an individuals and clubs to attend schools, obtain grants, access world-class programs, and obtain guidance and support for our local projects.
