Sylvia Heidbreder is the official photographer and historian for Plantation Lakes Garden Club, and this photo of our February floral exhibits is just spectacular. Don't you agree? Thank you, Sylvia! These beautiful floral design exhibits were created by Betty Baeschlin, Tina Latshaw, and Linda Olenick. Their assignment was to create a small design in a teacup, to be displayed on top of a 13-inch tall clear glass cylinder. Betty's design contained colorful flowers that picked up the beautiful colors in her teacup. Youth Poster Contest Winners

Plantation Lakes Garden Cub in Millsboro, Delaware, is pleased to announce that we had four local winners in the 50th annual Youth Poster Contest sponsored by National Garden Clubs, Inc., and the U.S. Forest Service. These four posters were submitted for a state award, and the second grade winner was selected by the Delaware Federation of Garden Clubs to be entered in the 2017 nationwide contest. Twenty-two students of art teacher Leah Barranco, at East Millsboro Elementary School, and one home-schooler submitted posters highlighting the conservation messages of Woodsy Owl and Smokey Bear. How to thank a veteran At the November meeting of Plantation Lakes Garden Club, each member talked about service members or veterans in their own lives.. We found that every member had a relative or someone in their sphere of influence who had served our country. This activity helped to make it personal for us as we made patriotic-themed floral arrangements for veterans at the Delaware Hospital for Veterans and Atlantic Shores Rehab and Health Center in Millsboro.
