PLGC Activities 2021-2023
COMMUNITY EVENTS - Welcome community residents
Plantation Lakes residents are invited each year to several activities or events sponsored by Plantation Lakes Garden Club. Check out our EVENTS page on this website to see the dates for our plant sales and special events, including the opening of a new Children's Garden in Plantation Lakes. Our service projects would not be possible without your support.
NOTE: State-mandated COVID-19 restrictions and guidelines have limited our public events at this time. However, we have created a page on this website to keep you updated on progress with our Blue Star Memorial.
PLGC PROGRAMS - Educate and entertain our members
The highlight of each PLGC monthly meeting is the program presented by a local expert on a topic of interest to members. Prospective members are invited to attend as guests, but we do ask you to RSVP via the CONTACT tab at the top of this page so we have enough chairs and handouts. Our program topics and formats are varied from month to month, and we enjoy additional programs and activities that are not listed on this official schedule of programs.
NOTE: State-mandated Covid-19 restrictions and guidelines have resulted in changes to our meeting locations and programs. PLGC members will be notified of changes by email. Prospective members should use the CONTACT tab at the top of this page to inquire about our 2021-2023 programs.
PLGC PROJECTS - Focus on community
"Focus on Community" is the theme for 2021-2023. Our projects include a Blue Star Memorial to honor members of the U.S. Armed Forces, a pollinator garden in front of the Plantation Lakes Community Center, a community garden planted by community children and teens and an annual May Basket celebration to "Beautify our community one front door at a time."
Plantation Lakes Garden Club also supports Penny Pines, a project of National Garden Clubs, Inc. to help re-forest areas destroyed by floods, fires or other natural disasters. LEARN MORE
PLGC COMMITTEES - Turn ideas into results
Most of our members chair or participate in at least one committee of Plantation Lakes Garden Club. No matter what your interests or skills, there's sure to be one that provides you an opportunity to get involved. Some committees are literally one-person jobs, such as preparing an article for the quarterly Delaware Federation of Garden Clubs newsletter or maintaining our website, while others may involve working with a dozen other members to hold a plant sale.
