History
Plantation Lakes Garden Club (PLGC) was established by twelve founding members in February 2016. We became a member of Delaware Federation of Garden Clubs and National Garden Clubs, Inc. in March 2016 and Central Atlantic Region of State Garden Clubs when it was incorporated in October 2016. During our short history, this club has won numerous state awards for our activities and even a few region and national awards!
Objective
To support the interests of our members and the objectives of Delaware Federation of Garden Clubs, Inc. (DFGC), Central Atlantic Region of State Garden Clubs, Inc. (CAR-SGC) and National Garden Clubs, Inc. (NGC). We achieve this through activities in our club and community that promote home gardening, community beautification, floral design, horticulture, and conservation.
Meetings
General meetings are held at 9:00 a.m. on the first Wednesday of each month except July and August. Due to "social distancing" requirements this year, our meeting location is subject to change from one month to the next. Please use the CONTACT tab at the top of this page to determine the location for any meeting you wish to attend as a guest. In some cases, the meeting may be postponed or canceled.
The highlight of each meeting is a Program presented by a local expert on a topic of interest to our members. Prospective members are always welcome and we encourage you to use the CONTACT button on this website to RSVP so we're sure to have enough handouts and chairs.
Membership
Membership is limited to residents of the Plantation Lakes community in Millsboro, Delaware, without regard to age, race, color, religion, sex, handicap, familial status or national origin.
Members are expected to support the club objective, attend at least five meetings per year, pay dues, participate in at least one committee of their choice and assist in hosting one meeting per year.
